YOUTH MAKES MUSIC 2013

This was the 9th consecutive year that this Charity Concert had been organised, with Bands, Choirs, Dancers, Vocalists and Instrumentalists from 9 local Schools raising money for Guide Dogs for the Blind, Friends of Jubilee Lodge and the Rotary Foundation.

Rtn Bob Bewick was the stage manager this year standing in for Rtn Grahame Williams.

• The Rotary Youth Speaks Competition

On Thursday 2nd February, four teams, two senior and two intermediate, took part in the Rotary Youth Speaks competition. We were delighted to learn, after the judges had deliberated, that two teams have got through to the regional finals at City of London    Boys’ School on February 23rd. The winning teams were: Matthew Scudder, Juliette Aliker and Connor Marcelis (senior) and Lawrence Brooks, Amirah Chaudhary and Annabel O’Reilly (intermediate). Connor was also adjudged Best Vote of Thanks and Gabriella Leadbeater, Best Speaker.

Rotary also organises a ‘Young Chef Competition’ for all schools to enter.
