I have taken the mantel from Rtn.Pam Merritt who has done a remarkable job over the last three years. I hope to at least do as good a job as she has.

Our annual 'Kids Out' day will again be held in June next year. Final date will be advised.

Vocational Service is sometimes a very difficult subject to describe. In essence, it means service through one's occupation or profession. It can be as varied as the organizing of trips to large companies for either the Rotary members, or young people, or arranging for young school leavers to have a 'Mock Interview'. These interviews are organized at the pupil's school, and take the form of a job interview conducted by our club's businessmen/women to advise the pupil on how to present him/her self at an important interview, how to dress, how to behave etc.

Community Service explains itself. We work and raise money to help the community both for the young & old. Last year we  raised over £1500 from our two Christmas 2007 Carol collections in Debden and Hainault shopping parades.  We also organize a  Blood Pressure and Stroke Awareness day, this year it was held at Manford Way on the 28th of April and it went very well. About 65 people had their blood pressures checked, and Stroke Awareness leaflets were distributed to passersby. A cheque for £200 was handed over to St John Ambulance who helped on the day.
