My year as President of the Rotary Club of Chigwell has been a very enjoyable one but has passed far too quickly!
My thanks are due to all the members of the Club and many others (including our friends at the Roding and Loughton and Buckhurst Hill Clubs ), who have supported me throughout the year with the various charity, community and social events that we have organised.
I am very pleased to report that over £8,000 has been raised for the charities I nominated for the year, namely, The Alzheimers Society, MacMillan Cancer Support, The Chigwell Riding Trust, a Kulkuta (mother and child) Charity and Water Aid.
One of the primary short term objectives of the Club is to find new members who are looking to make new friends and involve themselves in ‘giving back’ something to our local community and worthy causes. We are a very sociable Club and we organise a number of lively and very enjoyable events throughout the year.
I should like to send my congratulations and very best wishes to Pam Merritt for a successful year as our new President.”
