The Charities And People That The Rotary Club Of Chigwell Help

Since its formation in 1972, the Rotary Club of Chigwell has worked tirelessly to raise money for the many people on our planet who are not as fortunate as ourselves. These money raising activities are for the young and old, and money is given to Local, National and International Charities, to aid and assist the sick, infirm and homeless people.

In the nearly 40 years of its existence we have donated money to The Leonard Cheshire Home and Guide Dogs for the Blind as well as the Local Scout and Guide troops, Woodview Residential Home and Chigwell House for the handicapped are some of the local charities, the R.I.B.I, Cancer Research UK and the R.N.L.I. are some of the national charities, and various appeals for earthquakes in Pakistan and Haiti, floods in India, and much more recently the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, and for the complete eradication of Polio around the world. These are just a few of the charities that have benefited from our efforts. In all we have raised over the many years approximately £500,000.
