Our Most Recent Speakers At Our Rotary Meetings

The 15th July meeting heard from Christopher Claxton, a world traveller and author on a range of subjects. His research which made his talk entitled 'Who Was King Arthur'  was laced with several previously unknown (to the majority of the audience) historical facts and the location of certain events that took place at the time in South Wales, the South West of England and Brittany were both surprising and intriguing.

Our meeting on the 22nd July was a club Business Meeting.

At our meeting on the 29th July,  our special guest was District Governor Rtn.Wally K.Daly.  He gave a very humorous talk, firstly about when he attended the District Governors 'teach-in' in America, and then the fun and fellowship that can be gained from attending either an R.I. or R.I.B.I. conference. Just as important as his visit was the induction of Ray Harris as a Chigwell Rotarian.

At our meeting on 5th August, we welcomed back one of our previous speakers David Vroobel. David is an authority on precious jewels, and his easy 'laid back' delivery on the subjects of Diamonds, Ruby's, Amethysts etc, always makes for an interesting after dinner speaker.

Next weeks meeting 12th August is a little different. Rtn Michael Edwards will be interviewing, (some say interrogating), our new President, Rtn Pru Choudhury. These interviews are designed to find out a little more about our President, where she was born, early education, parents, siblings etc.
